Early Settlers: Sampson L. Lampkin, county surveyor; Edward Studevant, coroner; Thomas R. Mangham, clerk of the superior court, Jonathan F. Bridges, sheriff; Joseph Williams; Sampson Bell; William C. Grimmer; Robert Applewhite: and H. M. Jenkins.
